Neither the TRS nor the BJP seem to be interested in backing down from trying to bring the other down, judging by the way they are going head to head with the other, at every opportunity they get. Only yesterday did the TRS protest in front of the BJP building in Hyderabad, over the increased reservation for STs proposed by the TRS government. Today, the two parties exchanged a war of words regarding the increased tariffs over electricity, fuel and cooking gas.
The TRS, led by Kalvakuntla Kavitha, Telangana Chief Minister KCR’s daughter, protested against the increase in fuel and cooking gas prices. They said that while Prime Minister Narendra Modi is always either in election mode or aeroplane mode, the TRS is always in people mode, which is why it constantly strives for the best of the people. On the other hand, Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay called out the TRS for increasing the tariffs on electricity in the state.
Bandi called out the TRS for not being able to collect electricity bills from Old City and said that it was not right to impose this on the people of the rest of the state. He also said that it is not right to burden people with such heavy tariffs post the pandemic, as everyone has taken a severe financial hit. On the whole, while both the parties tried to outdo each other, there hasn’t been a concrete outcome so far.
