Things were very uncertain when the united state of Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated into Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, especially with respect to the real-estate sector. Everyone expected the real-estate sector in AP to soar to new heights, with a new capital being announced and all. Now, seven years later, the tables are turned on their heads, with the real estate sector in Telangana soaring, while the sector in AP is seeing steep lows.
The T government is likely to get up to Rs. 10,000 Crore revenue this year from land registrations. In the first week of January itself, Telangana has gotten a revenue of Rs. 7,759 crore. In December, the revenue was Rs. 1,118 crores. The revenue is only expected to increase from here. On the other hand, the revenue in AP is wavering, and very uncertain, with no certainty prevailing over AP’s capital.
Experts say that things would only look up for AP – which is already going through a financial crunch – if the government takes a firm stand on its capital, and brings about a safe feeling for investors.
