The Telangana government has taken another crucial decision on vaccination. The state has opened up Covid-19 vaccination for all individuals above 18 years of age from Thursday.
The government has arranged for a program to provide vaccines to more than 1.5 crore people above the age of 18 in the state. Vaccines will be administered at designated Government Covid Vaccination Centres (GCVC) across the State.
In order to get the vaccine, beneficiaries living in Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) and GHMC will have to book their slot online in CoWIN portal. On the other hand, people in rural areas can go directly to primary health centres and get vaccinated.
The government has also continued the vaccination program for high-risk groups. To complete this vaccination process, the health department had set 100 GCVCs within the limits of GHMC, while they will operate 204 GCVCs in ULBs. All the 636 existing Primary Health Centres (PHCs) will take up the responsibilities of vaccination in rural areas.
