The State Election Commission for the state of Telangana, had requested the High Court of Telangana to approve the validation of all those ballot votes with the stamps of the respective polling stations as well.
However, the Telangana HC straight out said that only those ballots with a Swastika stamp will be taken into consideration, and all others would be discarded. The HC further issued a Stay Order on the request submitted by the SEC in this regard.
The HC, regardless, allowed for the counting of all those ballot votes and said that these votes would not have the same weightage as those with the Swastika stamp, and that these votes would have a far less weightage in comparison. A person will have won a particular area if that person gets a majority of Swastika stamped votes, and not the other ones.
BJP Telangana President Bandi Sanjay said that the SEC was trying to help the TRS win the elections, because of which the SEC has asked the HC to count even those votes without the Swastika stamp on them. Bandi also said that the discrepancies in the voting took place between 4PM and 6PM on election day.
