The keenly anticipated caste census in Telangana is finally completed and here is a look at the series of numbers that were presented in this survey.
As it appears going by the numbers furnished by the concerned authorities, it is being established that the community is the leading community in the state in terms of population and footprint.

-OC Muslims: 8,80,424 (2.48%)
•other OCs: 44,21,115 (13.31%), making the total OC population 15.79%
•96.9% of Telangana households were surveyed covering 3,54,77,554 individuals, making it the largest post-independence caste survey
•94,863 enumerators and 9,628 supervisors deployed across 94,261 Enumeration Blocks.
With such a significant BC population in the state, it is only natural that the leading political parties are looking to cater to the community during the election period. This will further dictate terms as the party that comes closest to the BC community will be able to grasp the most political power in Telangana.
