Team India head coach, Ravi Shastri has tested positive for Covid following the lateral round of RT-PCR tests that were performed on Indian players and coaching staff yesterday.
Shastri recently attended a book launch party that was also graced by outsiders. It is reported that he might have contracted the virus following his interaction with outsiders in the meeting.
Shastri was immediately shifted to an isolation facility. Along with him, three other coaching staff members were moved to isolation with immediate effect.
However, the players have tested negative for the virus and were permitted to play on the 4th day of the ongoing test match against Egnland.
The entire Indian contingent, including the players and staff are fully vaccinated. Coming to the test match, team India is inching towards 300 runs lead in the third innings. Shardul Thakur Rishabh Pant are at the crease currently.
