Several Telugu Desam Party leaders have been put under house arrest, after they decided to meet with people suffering from coronavirus in the state, at hospitals. This was part of the ‘Bharosa’ program that the TDP members wanted to embark upon, on Monday.
Those who were put under house arrest include deputy party leader in the assembly, Nimmala Ramanaidu, MLA Ganni Veeranjaneyulu, MLC BTech Ravi, and several other district-level leaders. Following these house arrests, the TDP criticized the AP government’s house arrests, which were done to silence the TDP members.
On the other hand, the TDP has been very vocal about the Jagan government’s failure in containing the virus, and in being able to support those suffering from the virus. TDP National General Secretary Nara Lokesh also said that the Jagan government was more interested in politics driven by personal vendetta, than in the wellness of the people.
