The opposition TDP has strategically slammed the ruling YSRCP to rule number 71 in the Legislative Council and successfully stopped the ‘three capitals’ and is causing problems for the AP government.
In a quick turn of events, TDP leaders voted against TDP’s will and supported the YSRCP. This caused a sensation in political circles as to how TDP leaders destroyed the TDP party.
Its widely reported that YSRCP leaders Amanchi Krishna Mohan and MLA Sudhir Reddy played a crucial role in convincing the TDP MLC to vote in favor of the ruling party.
While the Legislative Council saw voting on Rule No. 71, interestingly, TDP MLC Potula Sunita and Shivnagireddy voted against it while there were 27 votes in favor, 11 against it.
Nine members remained neutral, leaving the TDP in a shambles. An independent member and BJP leader also remained neutral. As per rules, TDP has powers to act on MLCs who voted in favor of YSRCP. We may have to wait a few more days to see what happens next.
