It has been a tradition for Payyavula Keshav to win the election, when TDP lost and viceversa. When TDP was in the government, in the last five years, Keshav was idle with no power in hand. Magically, when the party faced a bitter defeat in the recent elections, Keshav won in his constituency.
TDP is now supposed to handle the pressure from the ruling party and continue in the opposition, for the next five years. So the party leaders are of good hope about the only big post, which is Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairman.
The state government allows the opposition party to fill the post with its candidate. TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu considered Keshav as a suitable candidate for the post and so picked him for it. Though the senior leaders like Atchennaidu, Ganta Srinivasa Rao, Buchhaiah Chowdary expected that one among them would bag the post, Naidu was strict about his decision.
At a point of time, Ganta even threatened Naidu, that he will leave the party and join in BJP if he is not picked for PAC, Naidu still considered Keshav as a right option, as he continued to stay in the party and work for it, even when he was given no power.

It should be seen, what would be the position of TDP, if the key leaders of the party really like Ganta leaves it, as threatened.
