The Andhra Pradesh High Court gave its long-awaited judgement regarding the 3 capitals issue in AP, today. The HC ordered the AP government to develop Amaravati as the sole capital of AP and directed the government to implement the CRDA act passed by the previous government. This has come as a huge wave of relief for the farmers of Amaravati, who have been protesting against the 3 capitals for over 800 days now.
The Telugu Desam Party, the YSRCP government’s main rival, and the party that proposed Amaravati as the capital during its regime welcomed the HC order with open arms and even hailed the HC for its verdict. Members of the TDP have been lauding the HC, thanking it for reinstating the bills that were passed by the TDP when it was in power. The TDP Politburo meeting took place today, which was presided over by party President and former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, discussed the High Court’s latest verdict. Former minister Kalva Srinivasulu spoke to the media after the meeting and briefed the media about what took place in their meeting.
Other matters that were discussed at the politburo meeting include the CBI’s probe into the murder of YS Vivekananda and the way the AP assembly sessions have become a ruckus under the leadership of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy. On the other hand, not just TDP, but all other political parties of Andhra Pradesh welcomed the HC’s rule, and the farmers of Amaravati are celebrating the verdict.
