After the Telugu Desam Party lost the elections very badly in 2019, many of its members defected to other parties, in the hope that they would make it big there. Three of those include Sujana Chowdry, CM Ramesh and TG Venkatesh, who joined the BJP and are currently enjoying the status of Rajya Sabha MPs. This will come to an end by next year though, after which they may not be given any importance by the BJP, given that they have no influence outside of AP, and since the numbers of the BJP in AP are also very less.
As a result, it is now being said that these three members are considering rejoining the TDP, and Chandrababu too is considering and making the necessary arrangements to take them back into the TDP. Naidu is said to be of the opinion that these members could come of help financially and otherwise too, in case Jagan calls for elections early on.
On the other hand, the other members of the TDP, who stuck with the party loyally, all through this time, irrespective of the party’s performance, are not said to be approving this move by Naidu, as they feel that the loyalty they have shown towards the party would go in vain in that case.
