One of India’s most senior politicians and the former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandra Babu Naidu is accused of Liquor smuggling. Yes! You heard it right. He was further alleged that 80% of the revenue that gets generated from the smuggling is Naidu’s share.
State excise department minister and the AP deputy minister Narayana Swamy said that Babu is a part of the liquor smuggling into the AP from other districts. For such reasons, the government has recently decided that cases would be filed against the lorry drivers, truck owners as well as the cleaners.
The Deputy Chief Minister said in a routine dialogue that no leaders will be exempted from action from the liquor trade. He demanded whether Naidu wants the complete liquor ban or not. The deputy minister implied that this liquor smuggling has been guided by the former Chief Minister Naidu.
“Liquor store rents are so high that the government has conducted a reverse tender to raise Rs. 108 crore is said to be left. During the last financial year, the government spent Rs. 671 crore.
