MLA Roja, who attained power in 2014 was able to retain it even in the recent elections. For the kind of attention she had on Nagari constituency, the people over there, offered her a good majority.
In fact, in the last five years, there are several instances where Roja proved her efficiency. At a point of time, though YSRCP Chief Jagan Mohan Reddy was silent, Roja never stepped back from going against the then ruling party TDP. Several such situations with an added cine glamour, made her the firebrand and also one of the most anticipated leaders of YSRCP.
TDP had earlier tried to have one such firebrand leader in the form of Divyavani, who also enjoys the cine glamour. But, the Cycle party severely failed in it, as most of her speeches were identified to be cinematic and non-informative. A few of her speeches also led to the trolls on the social media.
So, the TDP and also BJP are now planning to bring strong women from the film industry, who can tackle the things politically and target Roja. Regarding this, TDP is in talks with yesteryear heroine Vani Vishwananth and BJP is looking towards Priya Raman.

Both the heroines enjoy a decent fame for her performances in the films. But cinema is different from the politics. Roja’s image as a heroine, might have helped her to draw crowds around her. But it is her commitment towards YSRCP that made her retain the power, for the second time. So it would be better, if TDP and BJP concentrate on such committed leaders, rather than choosing the candidates based on their cine glamour.
