There is so much insecurity in the Telugu film industry and also terrible misogyny. There has been a drastic shift in the audience’s taste and preference of cinema, yet our heroes and their fathers are stuck in a time warp. This despite we had releases like U turn, Mahanati, Oh Baby, Bhagamathi etc.
Watch out very soon we will have demand for heroine centric stories and it will be a reality. None of the big stars will accommodate or tolerate footage greater than theirs in the film. Their role gets chopped. They can’t cry over it anymore. Forget footage, the filmmakers think girls can’t act.
So, in the audio functions when invited, these girls stand like dumb dolls pleased at the compliments that shower on them. Not one star, artiste, film maker makes a reference to the girl’s acting skill. They just drool over her beauty.
From ANR to Chiranjeevi, none of the actors have changed. ANR said he wanted to hug the heroine who acted with his son, Chiranjeevi extolled Lavanya Tripati’s dimples and smile.
Recently even Rashi Khanna was spoken about for her beauty. So sad really! Hope people realise the truth and contribute a few good words of the efficiency of the heroines rather than her reality.
