If sources are to be believed, the film industry is heading towards a severe financial crunch. Recession has already set in and now the plum rights that the producers procured for Hindi dubbing/satellite is set to see a steep fall.
To make matters worse, the USA distributors are not able to recover from the setback they received a year before. The effects will be felt in six months from now. No one in USA is ready to buy a film if fancy prices are quoted. One buyer in USA actually survived by going through a meager loss.
Even there is so much proliferation of digital content that the platforms are not ready to take more. They had a bad experience buying Vineya Vidheya Rama, Saho and other big films for high stakes.
Now they are thinking of buying films after the release, if the film gets a good talk and review.
