Amid speculations that Kollywood actor Vijay would step into politics, a shocking statement made by him on Thursday appalled his fans. The response comes after his name was registered for a political party by his father and renowned filmmaker S A Chandrasekar (SAC).
Responding to it, Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami took a dig sarcastically on Vijay’s political foray: “In India anyone can start a political party.”
However in a statement, the actor clarified that he has no connection with the political party ‘All India Thalapathy Vijay Makkal Iyakkam’ registered by his father and director SA Chandrasekar. The actor quashed exports of his political entry and stated that he has nothing to do with the move. His spokesperson Jagadish added the buzz on it was false.
“Strict action will be taken against anyone who uses or engage in any activities involving my name,” he said.
Vijay added that he choose to abstain from any political decisions of his father or political matters. “I request my fans not to join the outfit simply because it is my father who started it,” he asserted.
Insiders from the industry revealed that there has been a tussle between Vijay and his dad earlier and it has broke out in public with this odious exchange of words. However, SAC dispelled it and said it was he who took the initiative to turn Vijay’s welfare organisation Makkal Iyakkam into a political party.
