Switzerland has communicated solidarity with India in its battle against the novel coronavirus pandemic. They did as such by projecting the tricolor of more than 1000 meters in size on the popular Matterhorn mountain in the Swiss Alps to give courage and solidarity to all Indians.
Swiss light craftsman Gerry Hofstetter has illuminated the 4,478 meter pyramidal mountain straddling among Switzerland and Italy with staggering showcases of flags of various nations .
This was initiated in a move to spread hope and strength supporting the countries battling the fatal Covid-19 pandemic. It also included messages to stay home and stay safe.
The hashtags #stayhome and #hope, along with a red heart were displayed on the Matterhorn mountain. The projection was illuminated near the resort of Zermatt on the Italian-Swiss border. It is part of a series of nightly projections by artist Gerry Hofstetter.
As the world cripples with the novel coronavirus pandemic, Switzerland has taken a great initiative in sharing messages of hope, love and empathy. The daily activities have been lluminating the mountain with different nation flags since march last week.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi too got inspired and shared the tweet with a caption saying, “The world is fighting Covid-19 together. Humanity will surely overcome this pandemic.”
