Sye Raa is the one name, the entire Telugu film industry is currently chanting. As the film is nearing its release, the movie team is busy promoting it in all the languages. Here are the few lesser known facts, that Chiranjeevi revealed during his promotional interviews.
Interviewer: Why Ram Charan did not act in “Sye Raa”?
Chiranjeevi: We considered Ram Charan for Sherkhan’s role that comes before the interval. We also contacted Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt for the same role, but the movie team considered Charan as the right choice. But in one of the scenes, Sherkhan character is supposed to take the sword from the hands of Uyyalawada and kill himself. We then thought that it would be an anti-sentiment and fans may not take it. Adding to it, even the length issue bothered us, and finally, we decided to chop off the scene.
About Sye Raa songs
We composed four songs in total. But only two songs can be seen on the screen. Based on the situation after the release, we will decide on adding a duet song shot on me and Tamanna.

My mother was quite excited about my getup in the film. She is keen to watch the film on the first day, along with the audience in RTC X Roads.
“Ram Charan did it for me, if not you and Pawan Kalyan”
Chiranjeevi: Surekha said that though I and Pawan Kalyan are such huge heroes, we never gave her an opportunity to make a film. She is happy for Ram Charan giving her an opportunity to present Sye Raa, on her name. She is very proud of Charan than me, in case of Sye Raa.
Amithab Bachchan in love with Surekha’s cooking
During the shoot, we used to offer Amithab Bachchan, our home food during lunch. Surekha used to prepare Idlies and Dosas with small grains and Biryani with Kinova. Big B liked all such items and sent his Chef to note the items. Even on the last day of his shoot, he asked to tell thanks on his behalf to Surekha.
About Pawan Kalyan
There are no disturbances between me and Pawan Kalyan. Only media created the news. We share some good moments, whenever we assemble with our mother. We never discuss about politics. Kalyan is more interested in politics than films. He will give his best, if he is given a chance to rule. He has that capability.
About RRR
Along with Surekha, I once visited RRR shooting sets. The makers are shooting a scene, where Ram Charan is being dragged and bet by a few. I, as an actor, felt emotional and Surekha, as a mother, could not watch it.
Chiranjeevi’s further projects
Koratala Siva: A message oriented film, on the lines of Koratala’s earlier films. It will be launched in October and will go to the sets in November.
Trivikram Srinivas: A full length comedy entertainer. I liked the basic line and full story is currently under the construction.
Done with historical genre with Sye Raa, What about Socio fantasy?
Sye Raa gave me a satisfaction of doing a movie like Gladiator, Brave Heart etc. I am very much satisfied with it. As of now, I don’t have Socio fantasy in mind.
Your expectations on Sye Raa
We struggled a lot for several months and finally got satisfied after watching the final output. Keeping aside, our effort and people’s judgment, I have a lot of admiration for Shankarabharanam in my career beginning and also the recent Baahubali. I believe Sye Raa, can bring such proud feeling and is going to remain in the history of Indian cinema forever.
