It is already known that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy complained against Supreme Court Judge NV Ramana, in a letter that he addressed to the Chief Justice of India, SA Bobde. In his letter, Jagan criticised the way NV Ramana was allegedly interfering in the cases at the AP High Court, and the way he was influencing their judgements. Jagan also accused NV Ramana’s family of buying lands in Amaravati, and NV Ramana of being loyal to Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

The entire judicial fraternity of India highly condemned the tone in which Jagan wrote the letter, and even writing the letter to the CJI in the first place, criticising a Justice of the Supreme Court, and accusing him of several things. The investigation into this letter and all the accusations that Jagan made against NV Ramana, was done in a very quiet manner by the Supreme Court. Following the investigation, the Supreme Court dismissed Jagan’s letter/complaint in a trial that was held in utmost secrecy. SA Bobde even went on to recommend NV Ramana to be his follower, as the CJI of the Supreme Court.

It is important to note that differences between the Judiciary and the government are very common. There are several instances when the Telangana High Court and the Telangana Government were not on the same page, and when the Telangana HC called out and reprimanded the government for its actions. The government didn’t turn against the HC in this case and went ahead with the suggestion from the HC.

On the other hand, the AP government and the AP HC have a totally different kind of relationship. When the HC asked the government to remove the YSRCP’s flag colours from the walls of public buildings, the government failed to do so, which angered the HC judges. Instead of just silently repainting the buildings, the YSRCP’s members used foul language against the judges of the High Court, making the situation a lot more horrible.
