Actor Suhas says he has been waiting for a film like Hey Balwanth, calling it a project that gave him both emotional depth and full-on entertainment in one package. Speaking to the media ahead of the film’s release on February 20, Suhas shared that the movie came to him at a time when he wanted to make a careful and confident choice after recent setbacks. Backed by the successful producers Bunny Vaas and Vamsi Nandipati, who earlier delivered hits like Little Hearts, Raju Weds Rambhai and Eesha, the film is being made under the banners of Nandipati Entertainments and Bunny Vaas Works, with B. Narendra Reddy producing under Trishul Visionary Studios and Gopi Achhar directing.

Suhas revealed that the title was changed from Hey Bhagwan to Hey Balwanth following suggestions from the censor board, as the original title referred to God. Along with the title, even a character name played by Naresh was changed to suit the revised concept. He said the team respected the feedback and moved forward without compromising on the essence of the film. The actor described his role as that of a youngster who dreams of starting his own business from childhood and aims to take over his father’s business, only to face unexpected challenges when he discovers the reality behind what his father actually does. According to Suhas, the film blends comedy and emotions in a way that will connect strongly with audiences across age groups.

The actor also spoke about how Hey Balwanth is one of the fastest films to be completed and released in his career. He said the speed did not affect the quality and that the final output turned out much better than what the team initially expected. Suhas shared that he immediately connected with the story when it was narrated to him and felt the emotional layer made the entertainer more meaningful. After a series of films that did not meet expectations, he said he took a short break and listened carefully to advice from close friends and his wife before choosing this script. The confidence given by producer Vamsi Nandipati played a big role in his decision to come on board.

Opening up about his career journey, Suhas said he continues to work hard even when success does not come instantly and believes patience is important in this profession. He also spoke about stepping into a completely different space with his upcoming Tamil film Mandadi, where he plays the main villain. The actor admitted he feels slightly tense about how audiences will receive him in a negative role but added that it is a look and character he had been waiting for, and the opportunity came after the makers watched his performance in Ambajipeta. He said that if the Tamil film clicks, he may get busier in that industry as well.

Suhas, who was earlier known more for intense and serious roles, said Hey Balwanth marks his return to comedy in a big way, something he had done during his early days in short films. He shared that even his wife encouraged him to do more light-hearted entertainers after watching this film and enjoying it thoroughly. Expressing satisfaction with his career so far, Suhas said a big success would only add to that happiness and that the entire team is confident about Hey Balwanth connecting with audiences in theatres. He added that his next project is under Karthik Subbaraj’s banner, where the story is provided by Subbaraj and the film is being directed by one of his associates, while he is also listening to a few new Telugu scripts that will be finalised soon.
