Ever since the Covid-19 outbreak, many studies revealed some significant details about the virus and most of them helped people to save themselves from being caught with Covid.
Now, a new study claims that coronavirus can sustain itself for up to a month in the dust. The virus’ RNA, which forms the genetic material, was found to be sticking around in rooms where Covid-19 patients were quarantined.
Even though the study did not figure out whether dust can transmit the virus among humans, it could hold the secret to strongly observing patients caught in outbreaks across buildings and offices. As people come back to shared spaces, analysing dust could help stop further infections.
The study was published in mSystems journal on April 13, 2021, and found that some of the genetic material of the virus could survive in the dust.
