Sunrisers Hyderabad has become the fourth team to reach the playoffs. By winning against Mumbai Indians tonight, Hyderabad secured the third position in the points table. The men in orange chased a target of 150 runs in just 17.1 overs and won the match by 10 wickets. David Warner (85*) and Wriddhiman Saha (58*) made the things easy for Sunrisers while chasing the target. On the bowling front, Sandeep Sharma scalped three wickets. Jason Holder and Shahbaz Nadeem got two wickets each.
After winning the toss, SRH’s captain David Warner chose to bowl first. Sandeep Sharma dismissed openers Rohit Sharma and Quinton de Kock right in the powerplay. Then, Surya Kumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan tried to settle the innings by making a partnership of 42 runs. Then, Nadeem gave a breakthrough by getting the wickets of Yadav and Krunal Pandya in the same over. Pollard played well in the backend of the innings and helped Mumbai to score a total of 149/8 in 20 overs.
SRH came with utmost clarity while chasing the total. Openers David Warner and Wriddhiman Saha gave a stunning start by playing an attacking game. They scored at a run-rate of more than nine right from the beginning. In the process, they have also completed their respective half-centuries. With the duo’s help, SRH chased the total by scoring 151 in 17.1 overs. Sunrisers will now face Royal Challengers Bangalore in the eliminator and Mumbai Indians will take on Delhi Capitals in Qualifier 1.
