Sunrisers Hyderabad team is struggling to register wins in the ongoing Indian Premier League. The Men in Orange have only won a single game out of the six they have played.
Amid these challenging times, the team management has taken a crucial decision to remove David Warner as the captain of the team and hand over the captaincy responsibility to Kane Williamson for the rest of the season.
This major development came after Warner gave some disappointing performance in the matches, and he even took the responsibility of the loss on his own shoulders.
Interestingly, the team also notified that they would look to replace the overseas combination in the match against Rajasthan Royals, indicating that Warner might not even get a spot in playing XI.
The official statement of SRH read, “This decision has not come lightly as the management respects the enormous impact David Warner has had for the franchise over a number of years. As we face the remainder of the season we are sure David will continue to help us strive for success both on and off the field.”
It is worth mentioning that Kane Williamson has previously led Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 2018 and 2019 seasons.
