The latest installment from Marvel cinematic universe’s Spider-Man is here. The film is titled Spider-Man: No Way Home and it was released in India today, one day ahead of its theatrical release in the USA. Let us see what the film has to offer.
Story: Spider-Man (Tom Holland) and Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) devise a plan to sort out a problem and they, in turn, open a multiverse portal. All hell breaks loose after a few supervillains from other dimensions make their way onto the earth. Can Spider-Man set things right? And at what cost?
What About On Screen Performances?
Tom Holland, Zendaya, Jon Favreau, Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, Jamie Foxx, Marisa Tomei, and the list goes on. The film has a stellar star cast and they shoulder the film with their exquisite performances. Tom Holland’s portrayal is as good as his predecessors who have worn the coveted Spider-Man suit.
What about off screen talents?
The director Jon Watts infuses the film with several exciting sequences that can make ardent Marvel followers feel nostalgic. The film is essentially a fan-pleasing celluloid that caters to the followers of the franchise. The story revolves around the multiverse and multi-dimension concept, which don’t have much novelty.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is a well-compiled outing from the world famous franchise. For fans who have been following the Spider-Man franchise for many years now, this film takes them on a trip down memory lane. The scenes in which we get to see three Spider-Men (we can’t reveal more about this now) is pure goosebump inducing stuff to the fans. There are many other elevation blocks that provide whistle-worthy stuff for Marvel fans.
What’s hot?
- Surprise elements
- Emotional connect
- Pre-climax
What’s Not?
- The same old multiverse concept
- Bit of a lag in the opening half
Verdict: Spider-Man: No Way Home is a decent outing from the Spider-Man franchise and it caters almost exclusively to Marvel fans. It has a few hiccups through the course but these are outnumbered by the surprising elements that are quite effective. Marvel fans will love the film.
