Andhra Pradesh Minister Nara Lokesh has welcomed the Gazette notification for the establishment of the South Coast Railway Zone with its headquarters in Visakhapatnam, calling it a major milestone for the state’s development and connectivity. Reacting to the announcement, Lokesh described the move as a significant step forward in strengthening Andhra Pradesh’s rail infrastructure and improving operational efficiency. He noted that the formation of the new railway zone would play a crucial role in boosting regional connectivity and accelerating economic growth across the state.
Lokesh expressed gratitude to the Union Government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, for issuing the long-awaited notification.
