Team India suffered a crushing defeat in the final ODI against South Africa. In the third ODI played at Cape Town, Proteas won by four runs over the visitors. The hosts beat the Men in Blue to seal the series 3-0.
It is known that Team India’s regular captain Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the South Africa tour due to injury. KL Rahul, who captained the side in Rohit’s absence, has bagged the worst record ever. He became the first Indian to lose the first three ODIs as captain. So far, no Indian captain has lost his first three ODIs in a row.
Batting first, South Africa were bowled out for 287 in the inconsequential final match. Star wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock scored 124 off 130 balls and the in-form Rassie van der Dussen made 52 in 59 balls. Although the Indian side fought hard to win the match, the teamwork and proper execution of the SA’s side have given one more defeat to India’s side.
