Bollywood actor and philanthropist Sonu Sood has been helping the needy since 2020. He has been running several humanitarian programs and is rumoured to be entering politics soon.
It is heard that Sonu Sood is expected to contest the 2022 Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections as the Mayor candidate on behalf of the Congress party.
According to reports, the Congress has selected celebrities to contest this time, along with Sonu Sood, son of former Maharashtra chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh, actor Riteish Deshmukh, model and fitness personality Milind Soman. The Congress party is likely to announce one of the three as its Mayor candidate soon.
However, Sonu Sood recently responded to the matter and put an end to the rumours. Taking to the micro-blogging site, the actor reposted a tweet that read, “Maharashtra: Congress considering Sonu Sood as it’s candidate for Mayor in 2022 Elections.” To which, he tweeted, “Not true, I am happy as a common man.”
On the other side, some netizens and his fans are urging Sonu Sood to come into politics while others are urging him not to.
