Congress Party President Sonia Gandhi has been a scion of the Indian political scene for several decades now. She has led the party successfully in the absence of anyone else from the Gandhi family. It has now been announced by senior congress member Randeep Singh Surjewala that Sonia Gandhi has been admitted to Ganga Ram hospital today, due to issues related to coronavirus. He also stated that her condition is stable, and that there’s nothing to worry about.
He took to Twitter to make an official statement regarding the same, thanked all Congress men and women for sending their best wishes, and thanked all well-wishers too. Sonia Gandhi hasn’t been seen in public much, in recent years.
Sonia Gandhi is the wife of former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, the daughter-in-law of Indira Gandhi – the only female PM of India, also known as India’s iron lady. Sonia Gandhi has two children with Rajiv, Rahul, and Priyanka, both of whom are active members of politics, with Rahul Gandhi being the Prime Ministerial candidate of the Congress.
