Noted Tollywood lyricist Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry, who was hospitalised for lung-related ailments, has breathed his last at 4:07 Pm today at a private hospital in Hyderabad.
Seetharama Sastry was recently hospitalized with pneumonia and died Tuesday evening while receiving treatment. The death of the veteran lyricist is surely a big loss to the Telugu film industry. The 66-year-old was admitted to KIMS Hospital Secunderabad on 24th November with pneumonia.
Seetharama Sastry made his debut as a lyricist with Janani Janmabhoomi in 1984. He rose to fame with the song “Vidhatha Thalapuna” in K Viswanath directorial Sirivennela (1986). He penned lyrics for over 3,000 songs till 2020. He had also received the Padma Shri for his contributions in the field of arts and aesthetics. He bagged 11 state Nandi Awards and four Filmfare Awards South for his contribution to the entertainment industry.
Chembolu Seetharama Sastry was born on May 20, 1955, in Anakapalli Mandal, Visakhapatnam District. Born in a lower-middle-class family, he had his schooling in Anakapalli and completed his intermediate in Kakinada and BA in Andhra Vishwa Kala Parishad.
