Sree Vishnu’s last film Swag ended as a big flop tlat the box office. So, he is ready with his new film Single which has Ketika Sharma and Ivana as female leads. The film has released today and let’s see how it is.
Story
Vijay(Sree Vishnu) is a single man who is looking for companionship. One fine day, he falls for Purva(Ketika Sharma) but she is not into him. This is also the same time when Harini(Ivana) falls in love with Vijay but he rejects her. Who will Vijay finally end upnwith is the basic story of the film?
What about on-screen performances?
Sree Vishnu is the show stealer of the film. Single completely banks on his performance and fun dialogue delivery and delivers well.
Sree Vishnu is know for his comedy and if you look for that aspect, he will impress you with his act which is hilarious.
Vennnela Kishore gets a full length role and has done well. The entire film is based on his chemistry with Sree Vishnu and they both are a riot in the film and entertain till the end.
Ketika Sharma gets a mesty role and she is very good. This time there is no glamor show as she gets to showcase her acting prowess.
Ivana makes a decent debut and does well in her role. But more importance is given to Ketika and Ivana is left behind in many scenes.
Rajendra Prasad, Prabhas Sreenu and Bigg Boss Seetha are seen in cameos and they are good. VTV Ganesh is also neat in his role.
What about off screen talents?
Caathick Raju has directed the film and he has penned a simple story of a man stuck between two women. Story wise there is nothing new in the film.
Vishal Chandrasekhar has composed the music and his songs are not that great. But his background score is good.
The production values by Geetha Arts are neat and they spent well in the film and in the visuals.
The camera work is good but the editing is not that great. The film has so many repeated scenes that should have been chopped off.
Single has a simple setup and what makes things interesting is the comedy. Even the simplest of the scenes are made funny with the comedy quotient.
The manner is which the film was ended is also neat and keeps the hopes alive for the second part. This aspect looks good.
Single is an out and out comedy that does not have great moments. It moves at a decent pace and keeps you at bay with it a comedy.
The emotional thread in the film is quite weak. The episode of Rajendra Prasad looks forced and does not showcase anything new.
Single is targeted at the youth and is for those who look for great time pass and enjoy single life but for others it is just another triangular love story.
What’s Hot?
- Comedy
- Sree Vishnu performance
- Climax
What’s Not?
- Simple story
- Dragged scenes
- Lack of strong emotions
Verdict
Overall, Single is a simple comedy that does not have great moments or strong emotions. But there is enough comedy for you to give it a shot this weekend.
