The recent form of Ishan Kishan, Hardik Pandya, Rahul Chahar and Suryakumar Yadav in the IPL 2021 is currently troubling the BCCI. It is known that these four players are added to the 15-member Indian squad for the T20 World Cup.
Ishan Kishan, Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Rahul Chahar, who are representing Mumbai Indians in the IPL, have failed miserably in the matches played so far in the current IPL season. Ishan Kishan (11, 14, 9), Suryakumar Yadav (3, 5, 8) and Rahul Chahar (1 wicket), who have played 3 matches so far in the second phase of the UAE stage, recorded the worst figures. All-rounder Hardik Pandya, who has not bowled a single ball in this year’s IPL, has failed poorly, batting at an average of 7.85 in 8 innings.
With this, it seems that the BCCI and the selectors are reconsidering the selection of these four players. It is learned that Devdutt Padikkal / Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Shardul Thakur / Deepak Chahar and Chahal, who are doing well in the IPL, will be given a chance to replace those who are not in form.
An official of the BCCI responded to the matter. Although the form of the players is still a concern, he expressed a hope that they would return to form with another 12 days to go (the rest of the IPL matches).
