A shocking incident has happened in the heart of Nandikotkur constituency in Andhra Pradesh as a male student has set a female on fire and killed her.
According to police reports, the victim,, was an intermediate student from Samarlakota, Veldurthi Mandal. The accused, a boy from Kalugatla, had been persistently harassing her despite her rejection of his advances.
Concerned for her safety, her parents sent her to her grandmother’s house in Nandikotkur six months ago to distance her from the boy. However, the harassment continued.
The tragic event occurred in the early hours of Sunday. The boy reportedly knocked on the door while she was asleep in the study room. Gaining access to the house, he poured petrol on her and set her ablaze. She died on the spot amidst her cries for help. The boy, too, caught fire during the incident.
As the accused attempted to flee, family members and locals apprehended him and alerted the police. He was immediately taken to the hospital for treatment, where his condition is reported to be critical.
