The situation in the Amaravati region is deteriorating from day to day. The agitation of the farmers in Amaravati against the Capital Shift has reached the Twentieth Day. Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is yet to make a comment instilling trust in the farmers on the Government.
Meanwhile, the Ministers continue to make ridiculous comments terming farmers as Paid Artists. In today’s development, farmers in Amaravati blocked NH-16 while staging a sit-in against the state government’s proposal of having three capital cities.
Vehicular traffic for several kilometers came to halt with farmers’ rasta-roko and police, who were deployed there in large numbers had a hard time regulating the traffic. More to this pain, Jagan will have to shell around 72,000 Crore. Yes! As per the 2013 Land Acquisition Act, if the Government violates the agreement, the farmers should be compensated.
The Government should pay thrice the Market Price which will arrive at 2.17 Crore per acre. If Jagan’s government step back on their three capital Idea they can finish the entire things with 28,000 crore rupees. Plus, they don’t have to pay a penny for the farmers.
Everyone is eager for the Jagan’s decision on the Capital issue and how he is going to satisfy the Amaravati farmers if he decides to go with his three capital idea.
