Soon after Trump’s administration came into power, there has been a huge debate on the foreign employment in the US land. Visas and jobs in USA turned to be a tough task for Indians and the service based companies were motivated to hire more local talent rather than pulling candidates from foreign countries.
Even though this approach is reducing the profits for the service based companies to some extent as the pay and benefits for local employees is higher than the ones who are brought from foreign countries, it helps in the company’s survival in USA. Infosys pledged to hire 10000 local candidates in USA by 2019 and the company hired around 13000 till date. The new pledge of Infosys is to expand the local candidates strength to 25000 by 2022.
With more local hiring, the US opportunities for candidates in India is drying up. Alternatively, US companies are setting up their offices in India and few product based companies are offering salaries way higher than the market value in India.
