Hyderabad: Residents of L&T Serene County, Gachibowli, protested against Transmission Corporation of Telangana officials for the second time and complained vehemently that officials have started digging the land inside their housing society and blasted rocks with land mines despite not having court orders.
Initially it went smooth but eventually the workers started loading and unloading construction materials from 10:30pm to about 6 in the morning, which repeated once again yesterday causing distress to the residents.
“We got the order on Thursday evening,” said Rama Raju, president of Serene County. The works are being held to overlay 440 KV high voltage lines along the two towers in the society. Nevertheless, residents urged to choose the underground cabling.
“We are following court orders and work is being executed as per electricity act,” said Raghava Reddy, TSTransco executive engineer.
Earlier a week ago, over 800 residents of Serene County in Gachibowli have made silent protest with candle for disturbing their peace, work and sleep hours due to the continuous bouldering and excavation works of the Celkon company on the nearby land during day and night.
