Lakshadweep police, on Thursday, filed a case of sedition against controversial actor Aisha Sultana for claiming that the Narendra Modi government had used Corona virus pandemic as a bio-weapon against the people of Lakshadweep Islands.
As per reports, the case was booked at Kavaratti police station, based on a complaint from BJP’s Lakshadweep unit president C Abdul Khader Haji.
The officials had filed the complaint under Sections 124 A (sedition) and 153 B (hate speech) against Sultana for making offensive claims against the centre.
In his complaint, the BJP leader has cited a recent debate on the Malayalam channel in which Aisha Sultana had made such comments.
The actress comments didn’t go well with BJP workers and leaders and they organised severe protests in Lakshadweep.
