At last, the SEC of Andhra Pradesh, Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar, is expected to release the notification for the first phase of the local body elections, at 10 AM tomorrow (23rd January).
As part of this, the SEC had arranged a meeting with senior officials of the Panchayati Raj, including Gopal Krishna Dwivedi and Commissioner Girija Shankar, so that the details of the first phase of the elections can be mapped out properly.
The meeting was initially scheduled to take place at 10 in the morning today but was later postponed, and scheduled to happen at 3 in the afternoon. However, no one showed up to the meeting at 3 in the afternoon, which is said to have irked the SEC a lot. The SEC is said to have sent strict warnings to Girija Shankar and Dwivedi, and is said to have asked them to gather for the meetings at 5 in the evening, without fail.
It is now to be seen if the meeting will take place at least now, and what decisions will be made in the meeting, if it were to take place.
