Children ought to be tested if they have Covid-19 symptoms or unless have been asked to get tested by the doctors. Nevertheless, many schools are now demanding the students and parents to get a negative COVID-19 test result.
As the reopening dates of the schools for high school category students are nearing, school management have become over particular about getting a negative covid-19 certificate from the parents.
One of the parents complained that the schools mandating even non-residential students before admission is nonsensical.
Rather than taking measures to keep students safe in schools, the managements are trying to put additional burden on parents by demanding Covid-19 certificate. How does it make any sense, questioned Satyanarayana V, father of a 9th class student from a private school.
He vented out anger further that his residence is about 10km away from the school but the schools declined to provide any transportation. Due to which the child had to either take public transport or skip the online classes.
Parents raised the concerns that state government has to impose severe action against schools flouting the state’s education board guidelines. They clamoured that the states have to ordain schools to get the teaching and non-teaching staff tested for covid in the first place.
Few angered parents also complained that some schools are making face shields, head and shoe covers mandatory for their children.
