The pre-release event for the Telugu version of Tamil actor Karthi’s upcoming film, Sardar, took place in Hyderabad today, for which Nagarjuna was the chief guest. The movie is directed by PS Mithran, and features Rajisha Vijayan and Raashi Khanna as the leading ladies, while Laila will be seen in a key role in the film.
Karthi surprised everyone by singing one of Nagarjuna’s most popular song, Kannullo Nee Rupame, and said that he’s always loved and admired Nagarjuna. He said that the main reason he said okay to being a part of Oopiri was because Nagarjuna was a part of the film. He said that he was very much inspired by what Nagarjuna had said to Filmfare magazine when he was in 10th class. He said that being a good person is more important than being an actor, and it is something that he’s lived by ever since. He said that Nagarjuna inspired and taught him a lot while shooting for Oopiri, and that he will always be close to his heart. Karthi also thanked Nagarjuna for releasing Sardar under the Annapurna Pictures banner. He said that he hopes the audience will like the film, which is set to be released on October 21st.
Nagarjuna said that he is proud of presenting Sardar in Telugu and expressed confidence in the fact that the audience would like the film. He said that Karthi is a very rare actor, who carved a name for himself in the industry, by stepping out of the shadow of his brother Suriya, who is a Superstar. Nag said that people like Karthi are very rare, and that it’s only Pawan Kalyan in Telugu and Puneeth Rajkumar in Kannada that have been able to do that, apart from Karthi in Tamil.
