Sankranthi holds a special significance for Telugu movies, making it the prime season for their release. Consequently, many top stars strategically plan their films for Sankranthi each year. The trend continues for Sankranthi 2024, with five films already in the running for the festival.
SSMB28, the collaboration between Superstar Mahesh Babu and Trivikram, along with Pawan Kalyan and Harish Shankar’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh, and Kamal Haasan – Shankar’s Indian 2 are among the confirmed releases.
Prabhas’s Salaar is also a contender, but if it doesn’t make the cut, the Prabhas – Maruthi project is slated for release. Notably, Nagarjuna, who experienced a series of setbacks with his previous ventures, aims to capitalize on the success of Soggade Chinni Nayana and its sequel Bangarraju by releasing his 99th film during Sankranthi.
Adding to the buzz, reports suggest that Vijay Deverakonda – Parasuram’s film may also join the Sankranthi race. As of now, these are mere speculations, and the final lineup of films competing during Sankranthi 2024 is yet to be officially announced.
