Sanjay Shah is a very well known personality all over the world, and especially in the USA and India, being a successful entrepreneur who floated a successful firm, Vistex. His death in Hyderabad has now come as a major shock for everyone, and it is surely a major loss in his field of work.
Shah was in Hyderabad for the Silver Jubilee celebrations of his company, set to take place in Ramoji Film City, on 18 and 19 January. The company was in a contract with RFC for these celebrations. As part of that, Shah, along with the president of the company, Raju Datla, were elevated at about 40-50 ft above the stage. This was a partially closed platform, which was being slowly lowered. This was supposed to be their introduction to the audience.
As they were being lowered, the rope gave away, causing both of them to fall from huge height. Both of them sustained major injuries, and even though medical treatment was immediately given, at Malakpet’s Yashoda hospital, they passed away.
Janakiram Raju Kalidindi, Vistex’s Executive Director, said that there was no proper safety in place to begin with, and has lodged a complaint against Ramoji Film City , under IPC sections 336 and 287.
