South siren Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s forthcoming biggie ‘Shaakuntalam’ is one of the much-awaited films of the year. Directed by Gunasekhar, the periodic love drama film was supposed to hit the screens on February 17. While the fans of the Rangasthalam actress are eagerly waiting for the flick, the makers have now disappointed them by pushing the release to a later date.
The makers today officially announced that Shaakuntalam was postponed indefinitely. The statement from the team read, “We regret to inform our beloved audience that we would not be able to release Shaakuntalam this 17th of February. We would be announcing the release date soon. Thank you for your continued support and love.”
It is heard that the postponement was due to delay in post-production 3D work. The mythological film is based on Kalidasa’s epic Shakuntala. Set to be released in Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada, the movie also stars Dev Mohan, Sachin Khedekar, Allu Arha, Dr M.Mohan Babu and Prakash Raj, among others.
The theatrical release of #Shaakuntalam stands postponed.
