Responding to TDP AP state president Atchennaidu‘s recent statements about resignations, Andhra Pradesh government advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy said that the government is not afraid of resignations that are done in protest to the privatization of the Visakha Steel Plant.
Speaking to the media in Tadepalli, in Guntur district, Sajjala criticised the way certain individuals and some parties are politicising the statements that Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman made, regarding the privatization of the steel plant. He said that there was nothing new to politicise in the statements that the Finance minister made.
Sajjala said that the Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, had written another letter to the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, requesting the Central Government to not privatise the steel plant. Jagan is also said to have given several suggestions to the PM, about how the steel plant could be turned into a profitable one.
Addressing the recently concluded elections, Sajjala said that the party isn’t scared of taking the necessary action and that it has no need to get scared, as they have won 80 to 90% of the seats in the recently concluded local elections. He said that the party is simply discussing the various options and wants to choose the best course of direction.
Sajjala reminded everyone that the Visakha steel plant is completely owned by the Central government and that the state government has no part in it. He said that the value for land has significantly risen in Visakhapatnam and that no one with a head on their shoulders would see anything wrong with what the Chief Minister is doing.
