The Abhayam Masoom Summit 2025 was held in Hyderabad on Saturday to raise awareness against child sexual abuse. The event was organized by Young Indians (Yi), part of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), with support from Bharat Rising. Young professionals from more than 70 cities joined the program.
Supreme Hero Sai Durgha Tej spoke on the topic Every Child Matters in a Digital World: The Responsibility to Keep Children Safe Online and Offline. He said, “We need to protect our children ourselves. Today children are being abused on social media. People are posting inappropriate comments, even laughing at them. That is very painful. Is this the kind of society we want to create?”
He warned against hiding behind dark comedy and freedom of speech to make offensive remarks about children. He added that parents must spend quality time with their kids, guide them with love, and teach them important lessons such as good touch and bad touch.
Sai Durgha Tej also shared his personal experiences. “When I was in second grade, I told my mother about my first love story. She gave me the freedom to share everything with her. That’s the kind of open bond parents should build with their children,” he said.
The actor stressed that families should meet at least once a week to talk and connect, away from online distractions. He suggested that children’s social media accounts should be linked to parents’ phone numbers or Aadhaar cards for safety.
Speaking about his social work, Tej said he had worked with Think Peace in 2015 to support child education in Araku by helping to build a school. He has also adopted children in Telangana, taking care of their studies and basic needs. “Every child deserves good education,” he said.
The actor also revealed that after his film Winner, he decided to stop doing songs that promote teasing. “If we love someone, we should respect and praise them, not tease them,” he said.
He ended by requesting fans not to spread rumors about his marriage. “When the time comes, I will announce it myself,” he said with a smile.
