A day after pop sensation Rihanna extended her support to the ongoing farmers’ protests against the Centre on the three farm laws, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar hit back at the Umbrella star. Taking to Twitter, the former cricketer said that only “Indians should decide for India” and the country’s sovereignty could not be compromised.
“India’s sovereignty cannot be compromised. External forces can be spectators but not participants. Indians know India and should decide for India. Let’s remain united as a nation,” Sachin Tendulkar tweeted, with the hashtags #IndiaTogether and #IndiaAgainstPropaganda.
Rihanna on Tuesday highlighted the ongoing protests which are happening in New Delhi. She asked in a tweet why no one has been talking about it. The pop singer was praised by a section of social media users for speaking up on the farmer issue. At the same, she received the same amount of opposition from many celebrities for interfering in the internal matters of India.
