India’s young cricketer Ruturaj Gaikwad has created history. The 25-year-old batter has become the first player to hit seven sixes in an over in the history of limited-overs cricket.
Gaikwad achieved this feat against Uttar Pradesh during the second quarter-final of the domestic 50-over tournament Vijay Hazare Trophy in Ahmedabad. He smashed the balls over the boundary in Shiva Singh’s bowling, out of which one was a no-ball.
Ruturaj scored a total of 42 runs in the over. With this, Maharashtra scored 330 runs in 50 overs. Gaikwad scored 220 off 159 balls, which includes 16 sixes and 10 fours. The CSK batter now also holds the record for hitting the highest number of runs in a single over.
