There was quite a buzz over the title of #RRR since the day the movie was announced in 2018. The rumors were ripe in 2018 that RRR stands for “Rama Ravana Rajyam” and in October 2019 the RRR team sent some feelers to gauge the pulse of public on a new title “Rama Roudra Rushitam” but got a very lukewarm response which sent the makers scurrying away to come up with a better title.
According to our sources, the team finalized the first rumored title “Rama Ravana Rajyam” for the film and there are multiple reasons to finalize this title. One being, it adheres to the storyline, secondly, the title appeals to common people countrywide, as this is a pan India movie releasing in 10 Indian Languages, hence the title can remain unchanged or minimally changed for other languages (aka Ram Ravan Raj in Hindi?). The makers at one point even considered “Raghupathi Raghava Rajaram” for the title, as it got pan India appeal too, but lost to “Rama Ravana Rajyam” as the former was too soft of a title for Rajamouli’s film..
Meanwhile, In Dec 2019, a small budget film produced by V3 films announced/registered a movie with the same title as reported by us here . It might not be an issue for Rajamouli, as V3 films might sacrifice it for DVV entertainments out of respect for the leading filmmaker. Let’s wait for the official announcement.
The actual reason for RRR’s delay was revealed earlier and if you missed it, read it here. Stay tuned for exclusive sneak peak of RRR story coming up.
