The Academy recently announced a new Oscar category for “Achievement in Stunt Design,” starting with the 100th Oscars in 2028 to honor films from 2027. They also acknowledged the Indian movie RRR with a special mention. A poster featuring RRR, Everything Everywhere All at Once, and Mission Impossible was shared with this announcement.
After the announcement, SS Rajamouli thanked the Oscars team, also expressing his thrill to see RRR’s action visual including in the announcement. Producer DVV Danayya also tweeted saying that he is proud to see RRR featured in the prestigious announcement.
RRR, starring Ram Charan and NTR, is one of India’s biggest hits. It even won an Oscar for Best Song with “Naatu Naatu,” performed by the lead actors. The film gained global success, and its creators, including Rajamouli, Charan, and NTR, will take part in a special Q&A session at the Royal Albert Hall in London on May 11th.
