Rohit Sharma, the new skipper of India’s white-ball format, has been appointed as the full-time captain in the red-ball format as well.
The BCCI selectors in a Press Conference meeting on Saturday announced that Rohit will lead the Indian cricket team for the upcoming Test matches against Sri Lanka.
The 34-year-old’s appointment took place a couple of months after he was appointed as India’s white-ball captain. It is known that Virat Kohli decided to step down from the position following the Test series loss to South Africa in January.
Interestingly, ace batters Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane have been dropped from the Test squad.
