After a rigorous assembly session today the historic decision has been made as the AP Assembly passes the “Andhra Pradesh Decentralisation and Inclusive Development of All Regions Bill, 2020” for the establishment of Legislative Capital at Amaravati, Executive Capital at Visakhapatnam and Judicial Capital at Kurnool.
This proposal took place before a month by the Jagan Mohan Reddy led YSR Congress government and 17 TDP MLAs have been suspended for the assembly in this process. Though there are constant appeals from the opposition and riveting protests across the state, especially from the farmers of the Amaravati capital region, it is finally Jagan who succeeded in satisfying his ego with the help of his 151 MLAs.
The exact reason, need and essentiality of the three capitals has not been clearly mentioned in the bill but the reports issued by the Boston Committee and the High Power Committee came much to the satisfaction of the assembly to pass the bill anonymously.
In his speech, Jagan Mohan Reddy clearly mentioned that the Amaravati farmers would be compensated and there will be no injustice served to any part of the state. He added that his government took his decision in the wake of the decentralization of the power and the all-round development in all corners of the state with Vizag as capital.
Barring all the allegations, it was finally YSRCP government who should be credited with their controversial decision making and the future of the Andhra Pradesh seems to be in dismay at the moment.
